Creating a film about mental health can bring with it different emotions. This was my experience of creating a short interview film with Maddie Hopf about the Bell Let's Talk campaign and her struggles with mental health.

The lighting setup used in the interview shoot played a crucial role in creating the desired mood and tone for the film. Her story cut down to the core of struggles with mental health and what it means in a sports context.   The lighting was carefully chosen to create a warm and inviting atmosphere while highlighting Maddie's facial features and expressions. The final result was a beautifully lit shot that brought out the best in Maddie's story and message.  

The interview with Maddie was conducted with empathy and care as we discussed her struggles with mental health and how the Bell Let's Talk campaign brought out questions she could share. Maddie's story was portrayed with sensitivity and respect, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share her story with a broader audience.  Creating this film about mental health and the Bell Let's Talk campaign brought out questions that I may not have seen before coming to life. I am proud of the final product and its message, and I hope it helps raise awareness and reduce the stigma around mental health.
